Tirupati Airport is located 14 km from the town and has regular flights from Delhi and Hyderabad. It is a domestic airport and Jet Star and Kingfisher have daily flights from Hyderabad, except on Tuesdays and Indian Airlines operates daily flights from New Delhi. The airport has one terminal.

The airport has certain basic facilities like trolleys, telephone security hold area and lost and found baggage. The airport also has snack bars and refreshment stalls, tea, coffee and juice counter and rest rooms. Apart from this there are disabled facilities like toilets and wheelchairs, however you have to your airlines for the latter.

The airport is served by an extensive system of local city buses which carry passengers to and from the airport to the city. Taxis can be found right outside the exit gate and you can also rent a car from one of the many car rental desks located at the airport.

If you are flying from outside the country then your best bet would be to land at the Chennai International Airport which is the nearest international airport to Tirupati, located approximately 200 km from the city. All major airlines from almost all parts of the world serve the Chennai International Airport.

From the airport there are taxis and buses available to get you to the main bus terminus of Chennai at the Combed Bus Stand from where you can catch a Koyembdu bus no 70 to Tirupati or you could take a taxi to the Chennai Central Station which has regular trains to Tirupati. Alternatively from the airport you could walk to the local suburban railway station at Tirusulam and catch a train to Park Station and from there walk to the Central Station, which is about 5 minutes away.

How to Reach Tirupati by Rail
Tirupati Railway Station is located in the town itself on Katpadi-Renigunta rail route. There are train connections like Kanyakumari Express, Ernakulam-Hyderabad Sabari Express, Tirupati Express, Krisna Express and Venkatadri Express from many places in the region including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.

How to Reach Tirupati by Bus
There are a lot of bus connections from within Andhra Pradesh and from Tamil Nadu. Express buses are much faster than the ordinary variety. Cabs are a comfortable road travel option though somewhat expensive. The distance from Chennai is 137kms and driving time is around 3 hours by road.

Getting Around Tirupati
The city has a wide network of inter state and inter city buses. Bus stops can be found all over the city from where you can catch a bus to your desired location. You can either purchase a bus guide map or you could ask one of the locals for help incase you get confused. Taxis and autos can easily be hailed from the streets. However the former is more expensive as compared to the latter.

Tirupati is comparatively a small city, just 16 km, and some of its areas can be easily explored on foot. In fact the religious temples and some other holy places can only be explored on foot
